The Assistant Inventory Control Supervisor supports the Inventory Control Supervisor in maintaining accurate inventory levels, coordinating material flow, and ensuring efficient warehouse and production support operations. This role acts as a key link between inventory control, production, and planning to ensure materials are available, accurate, and properly staged for multiple builds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintain and monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts and audits
- Ensure all inventory transactions are recorded correctly
- Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce inventory variances
- Communicate daily with production teams regarding material availability and shortages
- Adjust priorities based on production needs and schedule changes
- Proactively identify and resolve potential material shortages
- Print and distribute purchase orders (POs) as required
- Lead and coordinate kitting activities for multiple builds simultaneously
- Ensure kits are complete, accurate, and delivered on time to production
- Prioritize kitting based on production schedules and urgency
- Provide day-to-day direction to inventory and kitting team members
- Support employee training, performance, and adherence to procedures
- Promote a safe, organized, and efficient work environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with leadership and present operational information to management in a clear and professional manner.
- Strong understanding of inventory control practices, material flow, and production support processes.
- Ability to solve practical problems and make decisions in situations involving a variety of concrete variables where standard procedures may be limited.
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to interpret and apply instructions provided in various formats, including written documents, verbal direction, diagrams, and production schedules.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills, including experience with inventory systems (ERP/WMS), data entry, and standard office software (Excel, email, etc.)
- Proven ability to lead, guide, and support team members, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or inventory control environment
