Production Manager
Job Overview
Production Coordinator – a role overseeing production processes, establishing production priorities, and ensuring operational efficiency.
Location:
Florence, KY CVG
300 facility. Shift: 12-hour night shift (6 PM - 6 AM, Wednesday – Saturday / Thursday – Saturday) with 10% shift differential premium pay.
- Conference with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards.
- Assist in obtaining data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
- Help minimize excessive material on the production floor.
- Assist in coordinating production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control to optimize use of human resources, machines, and equipment.
- Review and discuss production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and production problems.
- Assist in minimizing scrap and materials request order (MRO) usage.
- Ensure that each workstation has a clean operating area.
- Assist in implementing operating methods and procedures to eliminate operating problems and improve metrics.
- Monitor all production metrics and complete a monthly “report card.”
- Seek continuous improvement in lowering line and plant defects per million (DPM).
- Ensure that line employees read, understand, and adhere to appropriate policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper stocking and availability of operation supplies and equipment.
- Assist in monitoring the SPC system to quickly identify and rectify repetitive problems.
- Compile, store, and retrieve production data.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred or a combination of education, experience, and/or training).
- One to three years of related experience, ideally in manufacturing or automotive industry.
- Supervisory or Lead experience.
- Excel proficiency.
- Knowledge of global and regional logistics operations and industry.
- Strong proficiency in determining logistics requirements to enable company’s business goals and objectives.
- Financial and analytical ability.
- Proficiency in managing business analytics to determine optimum company footprint.
- Strong knowledge of international direct and indirect taxes and global customs regimes.
- Proven track record of successful change management, continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in personal computers and Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Leadership and people management experience.
