Position Title:
CNC Machinist
Wage: $25-$28/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours:
Flexible between 5am-6pm
QPS Employment Group is hiring a CNC Machinist for a company in Juneau, WI. This is a direct hire opportunity on 1st shift.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate manual and/or CNC machines (mill, lathe, drill press, grinder, saw)
- Machine parts to specified tolerances using prints, CAD models, and work instructions
- Perform basic fabrication tasks, including cutting, drilling, tapping, deburring, and finishing
- Inspect machined components using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools
- Assemble mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components into sub-assemblies and finished equipment
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and bills of material (BOMs)
- Align, shim, fasten, and torque components to specification
- Install bearings, motors, gearboxes, belts, chains, guarding, and safety devices
- Perform functional testing of assembled equipment to verify proper operation
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify root causes of fit, alignment, or performance problems
- Make modifications or repairs as required to meet design intent and operational requirements
- Provide feedback to engineering on design improvements, manufacturability, and serviceability
- Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, and ramp-up in production areas
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards
- Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and machine safety requirements
- Ensure work meets company quality standards and documentation requirements
- Report safety hazards, equipment issues, and quality concerns promptly
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school or apprenticeship preferred
- Proficient reading mechanical blueprints and GD&T basics
- Hands-on experience with manual machining (CNC experience a plus)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use precision measuring tools accurately
