This is a 2nd shift position, 3pm-11pm, Monday-Friday.
Summary/ObjectiveThe Sanitation Supervisor will report to the Production Manager and work closely with the Food Safety and Quality Assurance team. The responsibilities of this position will be directing and coordinating sanitation clean up for the site.
Essential Functions- Inspect facility and equipment for conformity complying with federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
- Required to stand, walk and use hands for a long period of time throughout the day (must be able to lift product).
- Responsible for direct cleaning of equipment and work areas.
- Confer with management and production personnel on sanitation problems in equipment plant layout, lighting and ventilation or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.
- Compile required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
- Manage and develop the SOP and specific training for sanitation staff (directly supervising approximately 3-5 sanitation employees).
- Responsible for master sanitation schedule and compliance to the requirements of the GMP, HACCP and Allergen programs.
- Research, purchase and maintain inventory of all sanitation and quality programs.
- Review and recommend sanitary design for equipment and procedures and make changes as needed.
- Review accuracy of required documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Ensure safety of all personnel and participate in plant safety programs.
- Prepare and actively participate in all customer and industry audits.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment complying with rules, regulations and procedures, along with following GMP practices and guidelines.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
- 3-5 years experience in managing sanitation personnel and procedures.
- Strong communications skills with proven leadership and management skills.
- Ability to work quickly, accurately and concentrate over a long period of time a ccountable, responsible and goal-oriented.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in various situations.
- Attention to details to ensure quality of work.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Physical ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
- Ability to comply with all safety, GMP, and company policies and procedures.
