The Role – Manufacturing Production Planner
The Manufacturing Production Planner will create, maintain, and execute a realistic, capacity-constrained production plan that drives on-time delivery, maximizes throughput, and balances customer demand with shop-floor capability in an electrical fabrication environment.
What You'll Do
- Own the master production schedule (MPS) across all work centers.
- Balance demand, labor, equipment, and material availability.
- Establish and maintain realistic promise dates aligned with operations.
- Release work orders in priority sequence to support flow and due dates.
- Ensure routings, lead times, and work center capacities are accurate.
- Adjust schedules dynamically based on constraints, shortages, or changes.
- Collaborate with Purchasing to align material availability with schedules.
- Identify material, labor, or engineering constraints early and raise.
- Prevent material-driven line stops through proactive planning.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and required training.
- Wear required PPE and follow shop safety rules when on the production floor.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline.
- 0-3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or an analytical role.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Interest in manufacturing, operations, and cost accounting.
- Exposure to job costing, inventory, or variance analysis is preferred.
