Job Description General Labor / Parts Puller - Fabrication
New Tech Metals is seeking a dependable and motivated General Labor / Parts Puller to join our fabrication team. This is an entry-level manufacturing position responsible for removing, deburring, counting, inspecting, stacking, and routing metal parts to the next operation.
The ideal candidate is someone who is mechanically inclined, takes pride in their work, and is interested in learning new skills. Employees in this position will have the opportunity to develop blueprint-reading, fabrication, and manufacturing skills and advance into higher-skilled positions within the organization.
Shifts AvailableFirst Shift
Monday-Thursday: 6:00 AM-3:30 PM
Friday: 6:00 AM-12:00 PM
Second Shift
Monday-Thursday: 3:30 PM-1:00 AM
$1.00/hour shift premium
30-minute paid lunch break
- Remove finished metal parts from sheet metal and production equipment.
- Deburr and finish parts using small hand tools such as grinders, buffers, and sanders.
- Stack, count, identify, and organize parts for the next operation.
- Route parts to the appropriate department or operation according to department routings.
- Read and follow work instructions and production documentation.
- Perform quality checks on finished parts to ensure they meet specified tolerances and requirements.
- Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.
- Work effectively with team members and other departments to maintain production flow.
- Work efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including machine surfaces.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and waste reduction.
- Learn blueprint reading, basic fabrication processes, and other manufacturing skills as training opportunities become available.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
- Previous manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, or general labor experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability and willingness to learn blueprint reading and manufacturing processes.
- Comfortable using basic hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately count and identify parts.
- Ability to follow written work instructions and department routings.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and repeatedly lift, bend, reach, and maneuver metal parts.
- Ability to safely handle the physical demands of the position.
