Description
Our growing machining department is looking for a skilled CNC Machinist with strong experience setting up, operating, programming CNC lathes to join our growing machining department; role will be in a fast paced, high precision job shop environment.
Ideal candidates have strong background in setting-up/operating turning centers, with specific experience on dual/sub spindle and/or Swiss turning machines and with strong CAM Programming skills.

Position Responsible for:- Completing all new or repeat set-ups, including tooling/fixture selection for mixed volume turned parts
- Assist with design/development of new programs from scratch.
- Actively assist in leading part/process improvements for profitability: improved cycle times, tooling life, quality, general efficiencies
- Machining operations for routine parts or those with very close/intricate print tolerances, high end/aesthetic finishes
- Read/interpret part prints and complete all quality processes as required per part
- Assist in secondary part production operations as needed to support workload/customer demand
- Assist in routine daily machine & cell maintenance
Starting pay will be based on prior related turning set-up/programming experience.
Requirements Preferred &Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years prior experience setting up, operating, troubleshooting CNC turning equipment.
- Proficient in CAM programming for lathe/turning centers required
- Previous experience with dual/sub spindle and/or Swiss style turning strongly preferred, but not necessarily required.
- Strong knowledge of machining principles, best practices, and tooling applications
- Advanced blueprint reading ability, including some GD&T interpretation
- Strong set-up and troubleshooting skills, working knowledge of G&M Codes
- Some prior experience creating/proving out new parts preferred
- Ability to lift raw material or finished goods up to 40 pounds, handle regular repetitive movements required in operations or material/part handling
- Able to stand for up to 8-10 hours per day with minimal break periods, and sit or walk as needed
