Shift times and overtime hours vary dependent on position, department, and location

1st Shift: Monday - Thursday, four 10-hour days, overtime worked at the end of shift and on Fridays and occasionally Saturdays

The Bar Operator (Machine Operator I) position is responsible for checking job sheets and setting up machines for operation. In this hands-on manufacturing role, team members have the opportunity to work with a variety of machining and fabrication equipment and build skills across multiple machines and processes. The team member may operate different machines to complete assigned tasks, including mills, lathes, saws, punches, and tube benders.

The team member must be able to read blueprints and troubleshoot basic equipment and machines. This position is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, learning new equipment, and seeing their work contribute directly to the manufacturing of our products. The team member must maintain a clean and safe working environment.

• Communicate verbally with co-workers to promote teamwork and maintain a safe working environment
• Operate a variety of different machines and equipment to include but not limited to: mills, lathes, saws, punches, and tube benders
• Develop skills across multiple machines and processes based on production needs
• Set up and prepare parts for cutting and milling operations
• Use computer systems to support machine setup and operation
• Load/unload materials into machines and equipment
• Read and apply measurements to parts and equipment
• Read and understand blueprints, schematic diagrams, etc.
• Read and interpret job routings and paperwork
• Identify basic machine or process issues and assist with troubleshooting to keep production moving
• Lift light and/or heavy parts on and off a cart, floor, shelf, etc.
• Use a cart to push/pull equipment and parts to and from designated areas
• Follow written and verbal instructions to complete tasks
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet safety, quality, and production expectations
