Overview

2026 Habitat Home Preservation Program - Grafton, WI The goal of the Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin VISTA Program is to build a better Wisconsin by assisting local organizations to increase the capacity and sustainability of programs focused on alleviating poverty. With passion, commitment, and hard work, our Ameri Corps VISTA members help organizations bring individuals and communities out of poverty.

Habitat for Humanity of Ozaukee County serves communities north of Milwaukee, with affiliate offices located in Grafton. Habitat for Humanity envisions a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Together we can build homes, communities, and hope. Safe, decent, and affordable shelter plays a critical role in helping families create a new cycle filled with possibilities and progress.

Affordable home ownership frees families and fosters the skills and confidence they need to invest in themselves and their communities, resulting in long-lasting, life‑changing outcomes.

Member Duties
  • PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT:
    Research home repair needs in the area and connect with other Habitat affiliates to learn best practices.
  • FUNDRAISING:
    Assist with fundraising efforts such as mailings and events to help procure funding for the organization, including the home preservation program.
  • VOLUNTEERS:
    Develop the organization’s volunteer infrastructure—focusing on recruitment, training, and retention—to provide sustainable support for the organization’s affordable housing efforts.
