JOB DESCRIPTIONCooke for Congress is seeking Field Organizers to serve as the campaign’s primary point of contact for volunteers and voters within a designated region. Field Organizers will be responsible for executing a grassroots field plan, managing volunteers, and achieving both quantitative and qualitative organizing metrics.
Responsibilities- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers
- Manage staging locations and volunteer leaders in assigned turf
- Plan and execute canvass launches, phone banks, and other campaign events
- Direct voter outreach, including canvassing, phone banking, and voter registration in assigned turf
- Travel throughout assigned turf to meet voters, attend events, and launch canvasses
- Build meaningful relationships with local stakeholders and organizations
- Foster inclusive team culture
- Attend events as a representative of the campaign, including staffing the candidate and tabling
- Other department responsibilities as needed
- Previous campaign experience preferred but not required
- Commitment to learning and understanding relational organizing tactics
- Current driver’s license and access to a car
- Access to a computer and cell phone
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs
- Experience working in Wisconsin politics or ties to Wisconsin preferred
- Previous experience with VAN preferred but not required
- Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence - the awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant, and productive ways
- Have a personal and professional commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- A positive, team-oriented attitude
- Time management skills are a must
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
Compensation: $3,500 - $4,500/month, negotiable with experience.
