JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is a skilled member of the health team who provides medical and educational services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician, according to Nurse Practitioner Protocol, and within the scope of the Nurse Practitioner License in the State of Wisconsin. This individual works within a cooperative department, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction.
JOBQUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Education:
For Nurse Practitioner's - Completion of a master's, postmaster's, or doctorate from an nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission
For Physician Assistant's , successful completion of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors. Successful completion of the national certifying examination and current certification given by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Minimum Required
- Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License or Physician Assistant
- Nurse Practitioner Certification awarded by a national certifying body.
- Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber Certification awarded by the State of Wisconsin.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association.
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
