The full-time (40 hr/week) nurse in public health supports the foundational clinical programs and services of the department. Responsibilities include assisting in the prevention, assessment, and risk reduction services for individuals, families, and entire populations to reach desired public health outcomes. Activities include, but are not limited to, providing clinical services to clients and communicable disease follow up.
Nurses work in both community and clinical settings and across multi-agency teams to support the individuals, families, and communities they serve. Examples of clinical services to clients include foot nail care, ear flushes, immunizations, and manual blood pressures.
Applicants must possess a WI Practical Nurse or Associate degree in nursing. A minimum of two (2) years nursing experience with aging population is preferred.
Must have a current State of Wisconsin license as a Registered or Licensed Practical nurse, possess a valid driver’s license, pass a caregiver background check and obtain BLS certification within six months of hire.
