Job Description
The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and Physician. Responsibilities include donor eligibility assessment, adverse event management, laboratory test result review, and ensuring safety protocols are met.
What you will contribute- Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis results.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including coordinating Center Physician orders and donor transport to emergency care.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues, donor safety, and eligibility.
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) licensed in the state of assignment.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State certification for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $33.44 - $45.98. The actual hourly wage offered may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, licenses, and location.
