LPN or MA Family Medicine

Job Summary

Provides care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within the scope of license.

• Medical Assistants (MA, CMA or RMA) – graduates of a recognized medical assisting program.
• LPNs holding a Wisconsin license.

• Patient rooming.
• In‑office procedure assistance.
• Injection and vaccine administration.
• General clinical administrative tasks in the electronic medical record program (Epic).
• Assessment of patients and ensuring their well‑being.
• Administer medication and observe for adverse reactions.
• Perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
• Educate patients/families about disease treatment plans, self‑care after discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow‑up care.
• Patient chart documentation: transcribe provider's encounter, orders, lab results, and radiology findings; ensure work‑up completeness.
• Transcribe consultations or discussions with families, private physicians or on‑call physicians.
• Maintain constant state of alertness and act safely.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or an education equivalency for licensing.

• None required.

• Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
• Constant standing and walking.
• Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0‑25 lbs.
• Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry.
• Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
• Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
• Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
• Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25‑50 lbs.
• Occasional lifting/moving of patients.
• Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
• Occasional driving.
• Rare crawling and running.

• Illinois – Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA);
  Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
• Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin – Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA);
  Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Compact State license.

Choice of part time or full time. Part time: 24 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Friday 8:00‑5:00). Full time: 32 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:00‑5:00). No nights, weekends, or holidays.
