Job Summary
Provides care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within the scope of license.
Eligible Candidates- Medical Assistants (MA, CMA or RMA) – graduates of a recognized medical assisting program.
- LPNs holding a Wisconsin license.
- Patient rooming.
- In‑office procedure assistance.
- Injection and vaccine administration.
- General clinical administrative tasks in the electronic medical record program (Epic).
- Assessment of patients and ensuring their well‑being.
- Administer medication and observe for adverse reactions.
- Perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
- Educate patients/families about disease treatment plans, self‑care after discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow‑up care.
- Patient chart documentation: transcribe provider's encounter, orders, lab results, and radiology findings; ensure work‑up completeness.
- Transcribe consultations or discussions with families, private physicians or on‑call physicians.
- Maintain constant state of alertness and act safely.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or an education equivalency for licensing.
- None required.
- Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0‑25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
- Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25‑50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting/moving of patients.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Occasional driving.
- Rare crawling and running.
- Illinois – Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA);
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. - Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin – Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA);
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Compact State license.
Choice of part time or full time. Part time: 24 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Friday 8:00‑5:00). Full time: 32 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:00‑5:00). No nights, weekends, or holidays.
