Job Description
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) responsible for donor eligibility determination, management of donor adverse events, review of laboratory test results, and donor notification of unsuitable test results. Works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and the Center Physician for medical matters. The role requires familiarity with plasma collection regulations and adherence to Bio Life Medical Affairs guidance.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including coordination with the Center Physician and emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings, medical or technical issues, donor safety, and eligibility concerns.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities are assigned: LPN or LVN.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

- Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44 (actual wages may vary based on qualifications and experience).
