RN Clinical Nurse

The RN Clinical Nurse provides patient‑centered, specialized, evidence‑based nursing care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy.

• Four (4) eight‑hour shifts per week
• Shift hours: 5:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., Monday–Friday
• No weekend, call, or holiday work

• Utilize the nursing process, evidence‑based practice, and specific competencies to assess patients’ physical condition and nursing needs.
• Develop and implement a collaborative care plan with patients and the interprofessional team.
• Provide clinical expertise in the assigned specialty and perform all professional nurse responsibilities appropriate to age, development, and culture.
• Identify opportunities to enhance patient experience, streamline care processes, and reduce costs while maintaining quality.
• Mentor and engage colleagues to foster a professional environment and retain expert clinicians.
• Consult and maintain positive relationships with physicians and other team members to problem‑solve and improve patient care.
• Proactively manage risk to prevent crises and handle life‑threatening emergencies with skill and resourcefulness.

• Current Wisconsin RN licensure.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• BSN degree required; non‑BSN RN with less than one year of experience must obtain BSN within five years.
• Cardiovascular or special procedures/cath lab nurse must obtain American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within three months of hire.

• Ability to stand, stoop, walk, bend, push, and pull; lift up to 50 pounds independently.
• Exposure to blood‑borne pathogens during routine duties.
• Manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination required for patient care procedures.

• Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments.
• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, caustic chemicals, and electrical shock.
• High noise levels may occur.
• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Transporting and positioning patients and equipment with proper body mechanics.
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
• Exposure to aggressive or combative patients.

• 32 scheduled hours per week.
• Full‑time equivalent: 0.8.
