Veterinary Technician / Assistant – Geneva Lakes Animal Hospital (Walworth, WI)

We are looking for either a Certified Veterinary Technician or an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. For Veterinary Assistants, after a year of service we offer a financial assistance program for obtaining licensure through Penn Foster's online learning. Responsibilities
  • Checks patient medical records for past histories, enters them into the computer and files.
  • Takes medical histories and vital signs of patients.
  • Maintains client educational material efficiently.
  • Performs departmental housekeeping duties.
  • Admits and discharges patients.
  • Takes, processes and logs prescription refills in‑house and online pharmacy.
  • Monitors hospital patients and logs vital signs.
  • Administers medications to patients as needed.
  • Places catheters and performs blood draws.
  • Restraints and assists the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
  • Lifts 50 pounds, stoops, bends, and stands on feet for long periods.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education / Experience

High‑school diploma or GED and one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technicians in Wisconsin are preferred but not required. Pay scale will depend on prior experience and skill level.
