Position: Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)

Is it time to shake things up in your career? Ready to be part of a shelter team with heart, humor, and enthusiasm? Look no further! HAWS (Humane Animal Welfare Society) is thrilled to add a full-time CVT to our growing crew.

At HAWS our team works together to create a space where community pets and their people stay together. If things don’t go as planned, we are here to support those pets that come to the shelter seeking a new start. You will get our support through mentorship, training, and the chance to make a real impact on the community.

The team which you could be a part of:
  • Medical Director, full time and part time Veterinarians, and volunteer Veterinarians.
  • A squad of excellent assistants and technicians.
  • Clinic Director and two front office gurus.
  • You’llwork alongside 2/3 Veterinarians daily as well as multiple technicians holding it all together.
What You’ll Do:
  • Be the superhero sidekick to our amazing veterinarians during surgery.
  • Welcome pets and their people with check-in and discharge daily.
  • Give vaccines and assist with preventative care during our afternoon Wellness Clinics.
  • Work with patients that are not always as happy to see usas we are to see them.
  • Dispenseand provide medications.
  • Prep animals for surgery and provide the best post-op care.
  • Keep our surgical equipment and clinic cleanand tidy.
Requirements:

Must be a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in the state of Wisconsin.

Comfortable with shelter medical databases (we’llget you up to speed!).

Experience working with animals in a veterinary setting.

  • Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Someone who likes a dynamic environment, we arebusy, we love it that way!
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience and confidence in safely handling and restraining animals of various sizesand temperaments in a fast-paced setting.
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds and stay on your feet,patients keep us moving!
  • Ability to pass a background check and havevalid vehicle insurance.
