If this sounds like you, then we want you for our Landscape Mowing Technician role at Lowney's Landscaping Center! As a Landscape Mowing Technician, you'll take the lead in ensuring turf health and keeping customer properties looking pristine throughout the growing season.
You'll get the chance to work on a variety of exciting projects, from weed eradication and shrub/tree pruning to annual and perennial installations, mulch top-dressing, and pond care. Plus, you'll be involved in one-day makeovers, planting procedures, and preventing insects and diseases. What you'll be doing as a Landscape Mowing Technician:
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing client needs with professionalism and a positive attitude
- Utilize expert turf knowledge and proven techniques to ensure optimal turf health, ensuring lush, vibrant lawns
- Demonstrate plant identification skills and provide knowledge of effective weed management and eradication techniques (bonus if you have expertise in this area!)
- Work efficiently under time constraints set by the Manager, ensuring projects are completed on schedule without compromising quality
- Operate all necessary tools and equipment safely and effectively, ensuring high standards for every task
- Make smart, weather-informed decisions based on current conditions and the season to adapt and adjust tasks as needed
- Communicate clearly and effectively with both team members and customers, ensuring everyone is on the same page and expectations are met
- Show initiative in problem-solving and proactively addressing challenges as they arise
- Prioritize safety and attention to detail in every aspect of the job, ensuring both personal and team well-being
- Strive for continuous improvement by seeking out new knowledge, techniques, and skills to enhance your performance and the quality of work provided to clients
- Build long-lasting relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and that they are consistently satisfied with the services provided
What you'll bring to the table as a Landscape Mowing Technician:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong work ethic, with a passion for learning and growing in the field
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's License, with the ability to operate company vehicles safely and responsibly
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform strenuous tasks as required
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality work with pride and attention to detail
- Capable of walking long distances while carrying or operating equipment throughout the day
- Eagerness to learn and apply proper turf management practices and techniques to maintain healthy, thriving landscapes
- Comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions, from hot sunny days to chilly or rainy environments
- Team player who communicates effectively and collaborates with others to achieve project goals
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions and take initiative to resolve challenges as they arise
- Dedicated to safety, following all protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe and productive work environment

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., including lawnmowers, equipment, and materials used in landscaping tasks.
- Physical stamina to walk long distances across different terrains, such as lawns and fields, while carrying or operating equipment like mowers and trimmers.
- Capability to perform repetitive motions, such as pushing lawnmowers and using hand tools, throughout the workday.
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions, from hot, sunny days to cooler or rainy conditions, for long periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly to perform tasks like weeding, pruning, and edging.
- Manual dexterity for handling small tools and equipment with precision, ensuring accurate turf care and maintenance.
- Endurance for maintaining a high pace of work, meeting deadlines while ensuring the quality and precision of all tasks.
- Ability to operate power equipment such as lawnmowers, string trimmers, and blowers, requiring hand-eye coordination and physical control.
- Ability to adapt to physical tasks with flexibility, including adjusting to shifts in workload and handling unforeseen challenges.
- Comfort working in a team setting, requiring clear communication and coordination, while also handling physical tasks individually.
