Lab Project Coordinator

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Coordinate execution of SGS testing and services with local labs and global affiliates, including sample processing
• Review job tickets and monitor closing and invoicing of job folders
• Maintain tracking spreadsheets and manage email correspondence
• Coordinate projects and perform data collection
• Provide support and training to department staff
• Support Operations efforts with Sales, Technical, and other departments
• Communicate with clients regarding time performance or issues in analysis
• Assist in calibration scheduling and ISO 17025 related activities
• Prepare specimens for testing following standardized procedures
• Test and analyze samples to determine performance properties and other characteristics
• Operate laboratory equipment and test apparatus with appropriate training
• Assist in maintenance and troubleshooting of testing equipment
• Read, comprehend, and execute new test methods and standards
• Set up laboratory equipment according to various procedures including TAPPI, NWSP, AATCC, ASTM, FTC, CFR, ISO, and client proprietary methods
• Manage inventory of laboratory chemicals and equipment and compile supply orders
• Perform periodic analysis of known standards and samples for method validation and proficiency
• Provide administrative and special lab performance support for department management
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

The company is looking for:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant scientific field or equivalent education and experience
• Advanced written and spoken English skills
• Intermediate mathematical and reasoning skills
• Ability to work independently under general supervision
• Ability to solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
• Ability to follow directions to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks
• Ability to read and understand test procedures, safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and manuals
• Ability to write professional and scientific reports and correspondence
• Effective verbal communication skills with customers and employees
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word

• Pay rate of $21.00 per hour, with actual compensation based on skills, experience, and qualifications
