* The Mechanical Components Division is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our Quality Team. This position plays a key role in supporting quality assurance and quality control activities within our state-of-the-art, climate-controlled machine shop. The successful candidate will work closely with production, engineering, and customers to ensure product quality, support continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain compliance with quality standards.

** Key Responsibilities*
* ** Customer Quality and Corrective Actions*
* + Lead investigations and perform statistical analysis for customer quality concerns, corrective action requests (CARs), and root cause analyses (RCA).

+ Coordinate cross functional meetings and provide timely customer responses regarding quality issues.

+ Serve as the primary point of contact for initial customer quality complaint responses.

+ Manage and track quality issues and corrective actions using Microsoft Teams and other tracking systems.

+ Schedule and verify completion of corrective actions and audit activities.

** Quality Documentation and Reporting*
* + Coordinate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities for new components.

+ Create PPAP documentation packages and deliver required reports and samples to customers.

+ Maintain PPAP databases and quality records.

+ Track and maintain ME-0159 inspection reports and associated documentation.

+ Develop, update, and maintain Quality Inspection Plans, including Engineering Change Order (ECO) revisions and new product in sourcing activities.

+ Maintain databases used for quality inspection plan management and record retention.

** Inspection and Metrology*
* + Program, maintain, and improve Oasis vision inspection systems, including support for new products, revisions, and enhanced inspection strategies.

+ Perform weekly preventive maintenance and cleaning of inspection equipment.

+ Conduct hardness testing, microscopic inspections, and photographic documentation as required.

+ Support the calibration program by coordinating with the Calibration Department and ensuring all gages and metrology equipment remain properly calibrated.

+ Assist with the evaluation and procurement of inspection and metrology equipment.

** Process Control and Auditing*
* + Conduct machine capability studies as scheduled and provide Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis and recommendations to manufacturing and programming teams.

+ Perform daily production audits to verify inspection accuracy, documentation compliance, product identification, adherence to work instructions, and first piece inspection activities.

+ Develop and improve in process inspection methods and quality control procedures.

+ Support quality system compliance through audits, documentation reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

** Continuous Improvement and Team Support*
* + Participate in and help lead 5S, quality improvement, and lean manufacturing initiatives.

+ Facilitate quality training and documentation reviews with production employees.

+ Provide day-to-day quality support, mentorship, and guidance to manufacturing personnel.

+ Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers on new product development, design for manufacturability improvements, and inspection strategy development.

+ Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

** Qualifications*
* ** Required*
* + High school diploma or equivalent.

+ Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to communicate technical information effectively.

+ Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.

+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

+ Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

+ Willingness to learn and continuously develop technical skills.

** Preferred*
* + Machine Tool Technology diploma or equivalent machine shop experience.

+

Experience with quality inspection, metrology equipment, and statistical process control.

+ Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting manufacturing data.

+ Knowledge of corrective action processes, PPAP requirements, and quality management systems.

** Technical Skills*
* + Ability to use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments and metrology equipment.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and work instructions.

+ Working knowledge of shop mathematics, including percentages, proportions, tolerancing, dimensional calculations, conversions, and angular measurements.

+ Ability to analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

+ Demonstrated ability to make sound, customer focused decisions in a manufacturing environment.
