IQC Incoming Quality Control Technician
The IQC Incoming Quality Control Technician ensures that all incoming materials, components, and sub‑assemblies meet established quality standards before entering production. This role supports operational efficiency, product reliability, and customer satisfaction by identifying defects early and maintaining strict quality controls.
Location: Florence, KY (Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area)
Shift: Thursday – Saturday and every other Wednesday, 5:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on incoming materials, components, and sub‑assemblies.
- Interpret specifications, procedures, and blueprints to verify product compliance.
- Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators.
- Document inspection results accurately and completely.
- Identify, label, and segregate non‑conforming materials.
- Initiate and support Non‑Conforming Material Reports (NCMRs).
- Assist in root cause analysis for quality issues and defects.
- Maintain detailed records in quality management systems.
- Communicate inspection results and potential risks to quality engineers and production teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for quality processes.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Monitor incoming material quality trends and elevate concerns as needed.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve quality issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: High School Diploma or GED (preferred, not required). Equivalent experience acceptable.
Experience: Minimum 1 year (ideally 3 years) in a quality control or manufacturing environment; prior experience in Incoming Quality Control (IQC) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Proficiency with inspection and measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, optical comparators).
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Maintain organized documentation and records.
- Experience in high‑tech manufacturing, data center, or server integration environments.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and reporting tools.
- Experience supporting high‑volume or fast‑paced production environments.
