Responsible for assuring that all customer and company quality expectations are being satisfied at all manufacturing and inspection process steps. Identify and implement continuous quality improvement activities. Provide directions to quality inspectors, help with product containment and root cause investigations, and upscale problems to management with recommendations.
Responsibilities- Creating, maintaining, and supporting External Source Inspectors and their documentation packets.
- Visually inspecting products using a scope or other tools according to IPC-A-610 and customer specifications.
- Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Creating and maintaining Certificates of Conformance for assemblies and parts.
- Completing Source Inspection activities where Ducommun has approval.
- Leading assembly product containment, including production holds, product failure in the DCO inspection system, and root cause investigations.
- Supporting Manufacturing Engineering efforts such as Product Binder Approvals, traceability data requirements, and customer documentation reviews.
- Maintaining and reviewing quality records (Test Records, DHRS, SMRS, etc.).
- Auditing production floor for continuous quality improvements.
- Assisting team members with CAPA responses.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma.
- 3+ years of experience in a quality technician role with intermediate computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Outlook and Excel).
- Intermediate knowledge of circuit board manufacturing processes, procedures, and standards.
- Read electronic and dimensional data to the closest tolerance, exercising thorough knowledge and the ability to use a wide variety of precision instruments.
- Good written and verbal skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels inside and outside Ducommun.
- Strong organization and documentation skills; attention to detail is critical.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and present the company image to attract business.
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Consistently completes assignments or work requirements on time without compromising quality.
- Intermediate knowledge of industry standards including J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, AS9102; QMS standards AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, NADCAP AS7120, and ESD S20.20; certification to IPC-A-600 is a plus.
- Intermediate knowledge of DCO software such as Agile, PERFORMANCE, Compliant Pro, customer web portals, Net Inspect.
