First Shift (Monday - Thursday, 4-10s)
This position is for the 1st shift Upholstery team. Experience with leather work, gluing, sewing, patterning, and sanding is necessary.
Upholstery Lead in GAC AppletonThe role involves leading day‑to‑day activities of the Final Phase Trim shop, planning and scheduling workloads, ensuring quality and compliance with all procedures, and supporting Gulfstream’s goals.
Responsibilities- Update and maintain Job Safe analyst cards on assigned equipment.
- Ensure all department work is completed on time and meets quality and quantity requirements.
- Motivate and direct department personnel to achieve productivity targets.
- Assign and monitor workloads, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and service bulletins.
- Verify that personnel are qualified and trained for work assignments.
- Support corporate safety, FOD, and 5S programs.
- Assist the team in meeting milestone dates through hands‑on work and guidance.
- Complete required documentation such as ADTS, CDMS, CMP cards, R&I log, and Corridor.
- Use and follow design and engineering drawings to ensure finished product meets specifications.
- Conduct weekly safety audits and lead Lean and Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Maintain shop equipment and associated JSAs, and champion housekeeping policies.
- Protect aircraft interiors (PTP) and lead safety initiatives.
- Assist in aircraft certification and may conduct flight tests as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 5 years of upholstery experience, including 2 years in aircraft upholstery.
- Advanced knowledge of upholstery, sewing processes, and advanced carpet installation.
- Mechanical background preferred (automotive, small engine, powersports, diesel). Welding, woodworking, cabinet building, and finish carpentry experience also preferred.
- Strong willingness to learn and work within a team.
- Ability to lift 30–50 pounds unassisted, work in confined areas, and wear required safety equipment.
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and shifts as required.
- Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and material specifications.
- Airframe and/or Powerplant license or Repairman Certificate is required if applicable.
