Responsibilities

The Quality Technician is responsible for monitoring product quality throughout the manufacturing process by performing inspections, conducting testing, analyzing production data, and ensuring compliance with established quality standards. This role supports safe, efficient manufacturing operations by identifying quality concerns, communicating issues promptly, and partnering with production teams to prevent nonconforming products. The Quality Technician plays a key role in continuous improvement by using statistical tools and data analysis to drive product quality and process performance.

  • Perform routine product inspections and quality testing throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality specifications and product standards.
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends, investigate issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
  • Communicate quality concerns promptly to production leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, process capability, and waste reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety standards, and company quality procedures.
  • Perform hourly product inspections and quality checks according to Product Quality Plans and inspection procedures.
  • Conduct testing using established quality methods and accurately document inspection results.
  • Maintain complete and accurate inspection records, quality reports, and testing documentation.
  • Monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and identify trends requiring corrective action.
  • Utilize quality tools including control charts, histograms, process capability analysis, and other statistical methods.
  • Communicate quality issues and nonconforming conditions to Rapid Responders, Team Leaders, Shift Leaders, Process Leaders, and Quality Management.
  • Assist with investigations into product quality issues and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety requirements, and quality system procedures.
  • Support audits, process improvements, and quality initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or GED.

Experience

  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles.
  • Ability to apply basic statistical techniques, including control charts, histograms, and process capability analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment.

Bonus

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Working knowledge of quality inspection methods and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
