Badger Ham is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Sales Representative/Trainee to join our growing sales team. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level sales professional looking to build a career in consumer products, retail sales, and food manufacturing.
Position SummaryAs a Sales Representative/Trainee, your primary responsibility will be supporting and growing Badger Ham's presence at the store level. You will work directly with retail customers to maintain product placement, introduce new products, merchandise displays, and strengthen relationships within both the Deli and Meat Departments.
This is a highly visible, hands‑on position that combines sales, merchandising, customer service, and business development. Successful candidates will be self‑starters who thrive in an independent work environment and are eager to learn and grow within the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Visit 5–10 retail stores per day within your assigned territory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with store managers, deli managers, meat managers, and department staff.
- Merchandise and stock Badger Ham products to maximize sales and visibility.
- Identify opportunities for new product placement, expanded shelf space, and promotional displays.
- Conduct in-store product demonstrations and sampling events.
- Develop and maintain attractive displays and point‑of‑sale materials.
- Install, replace, and maintain Badger Ham signage and merchandising materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
- Develop efficient store routes that maximize productivity and customer coverage.
- Provide market feedback, competitive insights, and sales opportunities to management.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four‑year college or university preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Physical Requirements
- Travel may be required up to 80% of the time within assigned territories.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to spend significant time driving, standing, walking, and working in retail environments.
- Salary Range: $50,000 – $60,000
- Mileage reimbursement or Company Car
