Responsibilities- Communicate with leadership regarding encounters and investigations
- Maintain a professional relationship with local authorities and law enforcement agencies
- Assist leadership with cash handling and transfers
- Observe customers and associates for potential acts of theft or fraud
- Taking appropriate action to prevent theft, apprehending individuals engaged in theft activity when prevention is not effective
- Conducting surveillance and apprehension of external theft suspects in compliance with company ethical standards and apprehension guidelines
- Monitor video via CCTV and assist in on-site interviews
- Developing and maintaining knowledge and use of CCTV surveillance equipment
- Assisting in monitoring store compliance with company policies and procedures relating to theft deterrence, safety, and operational controls, as assigned by the supervisor
- Maintain a high visible deterrent to crime and positively influence the security incident rate as well as assist with inventory controls
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays based on business needs
- Help mitigate security risks to provide a safer environment for employees and customers
- Welcome all customers, visitors, and vendors professionally and assist them in locating staff within the stores
- Issue electric handicapped shopping carts to customers and assist in obtaining wheelchairs and shopping carts
- Make regularly scheduled floor walks to ensure the safety and security of the customers and facility
- React as necessary and assist in handling any situations – shoplifting, medical emergencies, and inclement weather

- Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED College graduate preferred
- Proven track record of strong communication and organization skills
- Preference for candidates with prior Loss prevention (2-3 years)
- Currently certified or willing to become certified in CPR and OC (Oleoresin Capsicum aka pepper spray) foam deployment
