Position Summary

Reporting to the District Manager (DM), the Store Manager (SM) will lead the day‑to‑day operations of a single store to achieve sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, inventory control, brand representation, and team member growth and development. Through personal selling, leadership, and coaching, the SM will champion a People First store environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, builds lifetime relationships with customers, and delivers a best‑in‑class customer experience.

Responsibilities

Vision and Purpose

Communicates performance expectations and ensures all team members understand the impact of their performance on company success. Coaches and develops store staff to represent brand image consistently in store visuals and marketing execution.

Customer Obsession

Ensures team members and self deliver an exceptional customer experience through training, outreach, communication, and clear expectations. Empowers staff to resolve customer issues within established parameters and drives high levels of customer service through follow‑up and outreach.

Critical Thinking & Innovative Action

Attains sales projections and quotas, develops strategies to maximize personal and team sales potential, and identifies opportunities for improvement. Reviews and analyzes reports, recognizes strengths and root causes of problems, and coaches staff to correct issues. Keeps management informed of marketing and merchandising trends, advising on new or changing merchandise and services.

Demonstrates commitment to the People First vision by selecting, onboarding, and coaching talent. Communicates performance expectations, sets actionable goals, monitors progress, and encourages participation and idea sharing.

Performance Excellence

Responds promptly to directives, maintains store neatness and cleanliness, complies with company policies, and seeks to achieve outstanding sales performance and increased profit margins while controlling discounting, expenses, payroll, and repair departments. Works a schedule that covers opening and closing shifts, weekdays, weekends, and peak periods.

Work Schedule

During non‑peak periods, managers should aim for a five‑day, 40‑hour work week. Hours will increase during peak selling periods. Consistent, regular scheduled attendance is an essential function of this role.

Position Qualifications
  • Education:

    Minimum of 2 years of college preferred.
  • Job‑Related

    Experience:

    At least 3 years of retail sales experience, or 2 years of retail sales experience plus a minimum of 1 year of retail management experience. Preference for specialty retail or jewelry experience.
  • Preferred certifications:
    Diamond Council of America (DCA) certification.
Technical / Other Skills
  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient with computers, MS Office, and related business tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective employee and customer relationships.
  • Advanced presentation skills for team training and customer presentations.
  • Problem‑solving and conflict‑management abilities to support internal and external customers.
  • Professional appearance and communication via email, social media, video conference, phone, and text.
  • Ability to plan, organize, set priorities, develop plans, and delegate effectively.
  • Reliability and dependability.
Additional Language(s) Required

English required; bilingual skills are a plus.

Physical Demands

Regular communication, standing, reaching, moving merchandise, lifting up to 10 pounds, visual acuity suitable for discerning gemstone quality, and possible travel for training and business meetings.
