Sales Account Manager

Overview

We are seeking a Sales Account Manager to introduce and place new products with customers, execute business initiatives, and drive sales for long‑term growth. The role involves building relationships with customers and collaborating with internal teams such as Business Management, Plant Operations, and sales leadership.

• Direct Sales Responsibility
  :
  Accountable for achieving budgeted sales of consumer goods to key customers, developing and achieving maximum sales volume consistent with sales projections, and maintaining business with existing accounts for continued growth.
• Communications and Product Management
  :
  Maintain current knowledge of Smithfield's product management, marketing and R&D efforts to increase sales and satisfy customer demands, and cultivate business relations to communicate product availability, logistics information, specifications, and pricing.
• Customer Service
  :
  Ensure prompt disposition of customer complaints or problems; may require communication with corporate headquarters.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four‑year college or university and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of the food business industry dynamics or retail channels.
• Experience in customer‑focused and fact‑based selling, including IRI, Nielsen, and Perishable Group data.
• Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• High level of written and verbal communication, organizational planning, and adaptability.
• Respectful, approachable, and team‑oriented with the ability to build strong relationships and a positive work environment.
• Ability to work well in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• May travel up to 80% of the time.

• Capable of sitting for extended periods.
• Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
• Require sitting, standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
• Travel as needed.

Salary Range: $67,500 – $100,500

Relocation package is available.
