The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical aptitude, genuine curiosity about products and their applications, and the discipline to manage a territory with both rigor and creativity. This role is based in Greenville and requires local market engagement.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive repeat business and long-term retention
- Provide proactive follow-up and ongoing support to ensure customer satisfaction
- Gather customer feedback and relay insights to improve products and service delivery
- Maintain accurate records of customer contacts, interactions, and sales activity in the CRM system
- Present and promote products to customers and prospects, highlighting benefits and solutions for unmet needs
- Close opportunities to contribute to overall revenue targets
- Create standard and negotiated pricing for products within established sales guidelines
- Identify and pursue new sales leads through customer visits, trade shows, networking, referrals, and cold calls
- Assist in market research to identify new business opportunities
- Schedule and conduct regular sales meetings with customers and prospects
- Review sales and market trends to inform strategy for existing customers and prospects
- Analyze price-to-cost variances and recommend necessary pricing adjustments
- Monitor business-related influences that may warrant recommended change
- Collaborate across all functional areas to support sales-related activities
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions to improve efficiency
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3–5 years of sales or customer service experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with technical understanding of manufacturing and product application
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent customer relations, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Willingness to travel for customer visits and trade shows
- Local candidates preferred; commute radius of 15–30 miles to the primary office location
- Background in inside sales or technical sales within light or industrial manufacturing
- Experience with customer-facing roles in a manufacturing production environment
- Familiarity with product application in specialty or industrial markets
- Comfort transitioning from an inside sales role into an outside sales capacity
