Position Summary
Senior Core Valve Therapy Development Specialist provides technical, clinical, educational and sales support to ensure safe adoption and growth of the Medtronic Core Valve System and future catheter‑based therapy technologies. The role works closely with implanting teams and Medtronic catheter‑based therapies and cardiovascular group field organizations to drive procedural and practice success.
Responsibilities- Technical and Clinical Support
:
Provide clinical expertise for TAVR implanting centers, including "scrubbing in" for TAVI implant procedures to assist with valve loading, and delivering technical support in accordance with instructions for use, trial protocols, and best practices to ensure procedural consistency and optimal clinical outcomes. - Educational Support
:
Support site performance and safe growth by assisting in education and training activities with physicians, hospital support staff and Medtronic personnel, and by staying abreast of and communicating clinical data regarding Medtronic products and TAVR therapy. - Sales Support
:
After product approval, collaborate and strategize with territory sales representatives and the cardiovascular group field organization to achieve sales targets and implement business plans. - Customer Service and Sales Support
:
Support district sales strategy by working with sales representatives and managers to meet business plans within the CBT business unit and the broader cardiovascular group organization; maintain superior customer service levels and effective time management. - Professional Development
:
Assist in training new hires to the Medtronic CBT team. - Administrative Responsibilities
:
Submit accurate and timely expense reports, schedule travel arrangements, and maintain hospital eligibility/access with vendor credentialing services. - Communication
:
Maintain a high level of communication with appropriate cardiovascular group sales and leadership within the assigned geography; communicate market intelligence, competitor activity, sales leads, and product information to district managers and other company personnel. - Physical Job Requirements
:
Provide independent mobility during duties; interact with computers; lift up to 20 pounds; travel extensively by car and plane; maintain valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance; wear lead apron; operate in cath labs or ORs with radiation exposure; travel with overnight stays up to 50–75% of the time; and have a reliable driving record.
- Basic Qualifications (Required):
High‑school degree and 8 years’ experience, or associate degree and 6 years’ experience, or bachelor’s degree and 4 years’ experience in a clinical or sales healthcare environment, selling or supporting interventional cardiology, vascular, or surgical products. - Desired/Preferred Qualifications
:- Echocardiology background highly preferred.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, nursing, sciences, business, or related fields.
- Experience with wires, balloons, catheters, stents, cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Experience communicating product advantages to physicians and hospital administration.
- Experience managing multiple accounts and teaching/educating medical personnel.
- Imaging interpretation experience (TTE, TEE, CT, angiograms).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong influencing, consulting, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Project management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent customer service and relationship‑building skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Candidate with an associate’s degree and 8+ years’ clinical or sales experience, or a bachelor’s degree and 7+ years’ experience, may be considered at the Principal TDS level.
Job Requirements
- Regularly independent mobility and computer interaction.
- Ability to lift 20 pounds.
- Extended computer‑based work, hearing, sight, and speaking ability.
- Use of computers and CT reconstruction programming.
- Extensive travel by car and plane; valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance.
- Wearing lead apron for long periods (2–3 hours on average).
- Operate in cath labs or ORs with radiation exposure.
- Travel with overnight stays up to 50–75% of the time.
- Work outside typical Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm schedule as required.
