Position: SECURITY GUARD 2 (Armed) - Night Shift

Security Guard 2 (Night Shift)
Garrison Command, Provost Marshall Office, Camp Murray, WA

Overview

As a member of a 24/7 security team, the Security Guard 2 protects personnel and facilities at Camp Murray, responds to incidents, and supports emergency operations.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain safe access control and monitor entry to the installation.
  • Patrol, inspect, and monitor buildings, grounds, and infrastructure.
  • Respond to incidents, calls, and provide additional support as needed.
  • Assist Army National Guard, Air National Guard, and Emergency Management with emergency response drills and special events.
  • Collect and document incident reports and follow-up actions.
  • Support law‑enforcement activities, including accurate incident documentation.
Physical & Mental Demands
  • Work a 40‑hour week, including night, swing, holiday, and weekend shifts.
  • Maintain a valid Washington state driver’s license and comply with REAL .
  • Obtain and maintain basic first aid and CPR certification.
  • Identify and respond to traffic, license plates, and security signals.
  • Perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, operating a firearm, and completing a physical abilities test (push‑ups, 1.5‑mile run).
  • Use radio, telephone, and public communication skills effectively.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of experience in security, military, or law‑enforcement roles.
  • Valid Washington driver’s license and compliance with REAL .
  • Ability to pass background, polygraph, psychological, and drug‑testing examinations.
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Word.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting National Guard operations or emergency response.
  • Police reserve or military training.
  • Proficiency with automated security systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
