Utility Equipment Operator

Job Summary

The Village of Shorewood is seeking to fill the position of Utility Equipment Operator.

Under the general direction of the Public Works Director and Utility Superintendent, the position’s primary duties include some skilled and all semi-skilled sewer and water work with other assigned public works crew members. This position primarily works with the sewer and water crews.

• Operate automotive and mechanical equipment such as trucks, loaders, skid steers, and backhoe.
• Respond to emergency situations after hours, including snow and ice operations.

• Minimum:
  High School diploma or GED and at least two years of diversified public works laboring experience, including operating motorized equipment; or equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Must successfully complete a drug test and physical to demonstrate the ability to perform the physical demands listed in the job description.
• Must possess a valid Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• A valid Grade I-D Water Works Operators License is preferred but not required.

Salary Range for FY2026: $28.54 - $40.15
