Job SummaryThe maintenance technician is responsible for the general upkeep of the interior and exterior areas of the facility, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical devices, preventative maintenance programs, and plays a primary role in the safety committee. Other responsibilities include vendor selection and recommendations, and oversight of the direct work of outside contractors. The maintenance lead is a hands‑on role that ensures all responsibilities comply with federal, state, and local laws including OSHA compliance.
WorkLocation
- On‑site role in Greenville, with occasional support at the Lyndale Facility.
- Electrical troubleshooting and repair of control wiring circuits.
- Reading and interpreting prints for both mechanical and electrical.
- Diagnose and repair equipment and system failures.
- Replace conveyor drives, motors, belts and components.
- Electrical troubleshooting of AC and DC drives.
- Perform minor repairs in trades such as plumbing, drywall, painting, and carpentry.
- Use typical mechanics/electrician tools and inspection devices to diagnose problems.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs.
- Lead safety committee activities.
- Conduct evacuation drills.
- Support vendor selection and manage outside contractors.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Hands‑on experience directing skilled trades.
- Demonstrated competency in mechanical skills and general repairs.
- Shift flexibility during peak season.
- High school diploma with a minimum of five years of experience in maintenance, safety, and plant engineering.
- Trade school or electrical certification preferred.
