Title: Painter

Reports to: Blast and Paint Foreman
Location: Kaukauna, WI
Schedule: 1st Shift - Tuesday through Friday 6:00am-4:30pm
General Purpose of the JobApplies paint and various other coatings as specified by customer to fabricated metal piping, tanks, and other structures.
Summary of Major Responsibilities/Duties- Painting of pipe spools, structural steel, positioners, and machined parts
- Ability to use both a dry gauge and a wet gauge
- Clean used equipment well to keep maintenance time down
- Ensure materials are available in the mixing area before starting
- Ability to mix, thin and apply Alkyds, Latex, Zinc Rich, Epoxies (including Ultra High Solids) and Urethane coatings
- Dispose of excess materials in their proper areas
- Ability to use an airless and conventional sprayer
- Ability to be trained on a forklift, tug, overhead crane, and tractor
- Maintain good organization of the shop floor
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Conduct work safely and follow all safety procedures; reject unsafe work and discuss with supervisor
Skills and Abilities
Required
High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and/or one year experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percent, area, circumference, and volume; apply basic algebra and geometry concepts
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
