Branch Skilled - Controls Technician

Position Title:

Controls Technician Wage: $25.65-$42.30/hour

Shift: 3rd, Weekend

Hours:

11:00pm-7:30am Monday-Friday, 5:00am-3:30pm Friday-MondayQPS Employment Group is hiring a Controls Technician for a company in Walworth, WI. This is a direct hire opportunity on 3rd or Weekend shift.

Controls Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Repair and maintain electrical and process control systems to support safe and reliable production operations

Troubleshoot 480V electrical systems and related components

Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair instrumentation used in process controls, valves, actuators, analytical systems, and pneumatic devices

Troubleshoot and program Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
Troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and automation components

Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, P&IDs, and loop drawings

Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment

Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve reliability

Utilize root cause analysis to identify and resolve recurring equipment issues

Document maintenance activities through the maintenance management system

Assist with developing and improving preventative maintenance programs

Maintain accurate maintenance procedures and documentation

Assist with parts inventory management

Coordinate maintenance activities with operations, contractors, and plant personnel

Perform mechanical maintenance tasks as needed

Participate in on-call responsibilities as assigned

Provide training and mentorship to team members as needed

Perform other duties as assigned

Controls Technician Requirements:

Technical college education preferred or equivalent industrial experience3+ years of industrial electrical, instrumentation, controls, or maintenance experience preferred

Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, PLCs, HMIs, and VFDsStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment

Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and work at heights

Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and humidity levelsIND
