Pipe Crew Excavator Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate pipe excavator and related power construction equipment safely and efficiently, following all safety and OSHA requirements.

• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Class A CDL desired (not required).
• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• 3+ years of experience on a pipe crew.
• Proficiency in proper sloping and trenching techniques for installing sanitary sewer, water main, and storm sewers of varying depths and soil types.
• Ability to dig inside and pull trench boxes and plates.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to work varied hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and other required times.
• Capacity to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions and dirty, dusty environments.
• Member of a local operators union, or willingness to become a union member; union membership may not be required prior to employment.
• Successfully pass or have passed the operators union aptitude test when required.
• Ability to clean, maintain, and assist in repairing equipment.
