Senior Commercial Refrigeration Service Technician

Cool Sys is seeking a Senior Commercial Refrigeration Service Technician to lead field service for retail, commercial, and industrial customers. In this role, you'll diagnose and repair complex rack and stand-alone refrigeration systems, HVAC-R equipment, and controls while ensuring safe, efficient, and code-compliant operation. You'll perform start-ups, PMs, and emergency service, optimize energy performance, and complete accurate documentation. As a senior tech, you'll mentor junior technicians, model safety-first practices, and deliver customer-focused, reliable service across diverse facilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC-R systems, including rack and stand-alone equipment
• Perform start-ups, preventive maintenance, and emergency service calls with a focus on safety and reliability
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control issues using schematics and technical documentation
• Optimize system performance for energy efficiency and compliance with codes and regulations
• Recover, handle, and charge refrigerants in accordance with EPA and company standards
• Document work performed, parts used, and recommendations in service software accurately and on time
• Coordinate with customers on job status, recommendations, and follow-up service needs
• Mentor and support junior technicians, sharing best practices and technical knowledge

• Collaborate with dispatch and project teams to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery
