Position Title: Industrial Electrician

Wage: $35.00-$45.00/hour

Shift: 2nd, 3rd

Hours: 2:30pm-11:00pm, 11:00pm-7:30am

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Technician to support a highly automated food manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for installing, calibrating, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical, instrumentation, and process control systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs, and the ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and loop drawings.

Industrial Electrician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform electrical and process control system repair and maintenance to support safe, reliable, and productive operations
  • Troubleshoot 480V electrical systems and related equipment
  • Install, repair, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation used in process controls
  • Troubleshoot and maintain control systems, valves, actuators, and pneumatically controlled devices
  • Diagnose instrument malfunctions and determine appropriate corrective actions to improve system reliability
  • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain variable frequency drives (VFDs)
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, P&IDs, and loop drawings
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on instrumentation and electrical equipment
  • Assist with the development and improvement of preventive maintenance programs for equipment and facility systems
  • Generate and maintain written procedures for maintenance tasks
  • Document planned and unplanned maintenance activities through the maintenance management system
  • Utilize root cause analysis and other troubleshooting methodologies to identify and resolve equipment issues
  • Assist with maintaining an accurate inventory of maintenance parts and supplies
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with operations, contractors, and other plant personnel
  • Work independently while also collaborating effectively with the maintenance and production teams
  • Provide mentorship and training to other employees as needed
  • Perform mechanical maintenance duties when required
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities as requested by maintenance supervision
  • Follow all applicable GMP and food manufacturing safety requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Industrial Electrician Requirements:
  • Technical college education preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant industrial maintenance, instrumentation, electrical, or process controls experience may be considered in place of formal education
  • Experience working in an automated manufacturing or food processing environment preferred
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and related control components
  • Ability to troubleshoot 480V electrical systems
  • Knowledge of industrial instrumentation and process control systems
  • Experience with pneumatic systems, valves, and actuators
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, P&IDs, and loop drawings
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance, production, contractors, and management
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and equipment reliability
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear
  • Ability to reach above the shoulders, climb, work at heights, crouch, stoop, and kneel
  • Ability to frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, generally from floor to waist level
  • Ability to repetitively lift up to 25 pounds at or above shoulder height
  • Ability to work in environments with high temperatures and high humidity for extended periods
  • Ability to safely perform work around electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automated manufacturing equipment
