As a Plant Operator/Backup Shuttle Driver, you will safely fill high-pressure cylinders in the plant and step in as a relief driver to deliver compressed gases and hard goods to local branch locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Fill high-pressure industrial and medical cylinders using temperature/pressure methods; operate, inspect, and maintain pumping equipment and pressure gauges.
- Perform pre- and post-fill cylinder inspections, remove damaged equipment from service, and maintain accurate compliance records.
- Act as the relief driver when needed, safely operating a loaded delivery truck to transport cylinders and goods to other branch locations.
- Load and unload trucks, complete pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, and accurately maintain delivery manifests; assist with inventory and plant housekeeping when not driving.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
- Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications.
- One (1) year of prior Class A professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record (no more than two convictions or two at‑fault accidents in the last three years; or no more than one conviction and one at‑fault accident in the last three years).
- In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years.
- Must be at least 21 years or older.
- Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
- Ability to routinely lift 25–75 lbs, and occasionally lift 76–>125 lbs with the aid of material handling equipment.
- Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.
- Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to obtain a forklift operator certification.
