Orchid's Arab, Alabama site is centrally located near Huntsville and serves advanced machining of complex instruments for the joint, spine and trauma markets. The 70,000‑sq‑ft facility employs approximately 200 team members.

ALA – Shift 2 ($3) – United States of America – Alabama

The CNC Machinist position contributes to the production of medical devices by operating multi‑axis CNC machines, identifying X, Y, Z and 0 coordinates, and running multiple and varying CNC machines simultaneously, such as Lathes, Mills, and Plunge machines.

• The Machinist, CNC reports directly to the area Supervisor.
• Performs basic machining functions to produce parts.
• Operates multiple machines simultaneously.
• Monitors the machine to ensure proper program performance.
• Completes shop work orders, inspection documentation, and daily maintenance sheets.
• Makes offsets and adjustments to machines with moderate supervision.
• Advocates for the health and safety of self, co‑workers, customers, and the community.
• Supports quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Completes all required training.

• High School Or Equivalent (Preferred)

• Lean Manufacturing Experience (Preferred)
• Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing (Preferred)
• 1+ Years of Experience Operating Machining Equipment in a Manufacturing Environment (Preferred)
• Experience operating CNC Mills or Lathes independently (Required)
• Experience using measuring tools, e.g., Calipers, height gauge, indicator (Required)
• Experience reading basic blueprints (Required)
