Nutreco Exploration (Nut Ex) is the ingredient development partner for all Nutreco business lines—Trouw Nutrition and Skretting. With expertise in Phytotechnology and Bactotechnology, we ‘Discover, Create, and Produce‘ innovative products that integrate into Nutreco’s feeding solutions—enhancing their impact on the health and welfare of aquatic and land animals. Our vision is to develop a proprietary portfolio of high‑impact solutions backed by patents, regulatory approvals, and deep scientific understanding.

At our state‑of‑the‑art Nutreco’s Garden of the Future facility in Arbon, Switzerland - situated in the renowned Phyto‑Valley - we operate as a dynamic and agile team of 30 experts. While part of Nutreco’s global network of 13,000 employees, our work is highly specialized, giving us the feel of a fast‑paced, innovation‑driven start‑up/scale‑up company.

This is where you come in. So far, the Finance role has been spread over several professionals locally and centrally. The time has now come to establish a local Finance role to support and help drive our continued growth. You will be closely coordinating with your local and international colleagues in our Nut Ex Discover, Create and Produce functions, as well as with the Corporate Finance team and the Financial Shared Service Center (both located in the Netherlands).

You will establish and strengthen the local finance function for Nutreco Exploration while working closely with international stakeholders.

Finance & Reporting (50%)

• Build and strengthen the local finance foundation within the Nutreco framework
• Coordinate monthly and annual closing activities and financial reporting, including tax filings
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external auditors
• Deliver integrated profit reporting across Nut Ex products
• Coordinate budget and strategic planning cycles

Portfolio Management (25%)

• Own and manage the Nut Ex financial model
• Monitor and report on value creation, project progress, and portfolio performance
• Manage budgets and track actuals across projects
• Support portfolio reviews and reporting for senior management

Projects & Analysis (25%)

• Lead or support ad hoc financial analyses and projects
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Support decision‑making with data‑driven insights

• Master’s degree in Finance, AFPE, or equivalent
• 3–5 years of experience in controlling/finance, ideally in an international manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of accounting standards and affinity with ERP systems (we use Infor M3)
• Analytical and fact‑driven mindset with the ability to form clear opinions
• Hands‑on, proactive, and execution‑focused
• Strong collaborator who thrives in cross‑functional teams
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Curious mindset with a willingness to explore new areas and contribute to innovation

This role will be based in Arbon, Thurgau, Switzerland. Full‑time on‑site presence in our Garden of the Future site is mandatory for close collaboration with the team and access to the laboratory.
