Display Craft Manufacturing, an Obrist America company, offers hands‑on careers in the craft of custom retail fixtures, cabinetry, and commercial millwork. Our Baltimore team has been building quality store displays and interior elements for more than 75 years, and we are growing with the support of Obrist America and Swiss quality standards. We are looking for motivated Assembly / Woodworker team members who enjoy working with their hands, learning from experienced craftspeople, and contributing to high‑quality custom manufacturing.

ABOUT

THE ROLE

The Assembly / Woodworker role supports cabinetmakers, woodworkers, and production teams by helping fabricate, assemble, prepare, and move custom components through the manufacturing process. This is a strong opportunity for someone with an interest in woodworking or cabinetmaking who wants to build practical skills in a professional shop environment. Prior experience is helpful, but curiosity, reliability, safety, and a willingness to learn are essential.

WHAT

YOU WILL DO
  • Assist cabinetmakers, woodworkers, and other departments with tasks that support quality standards and on‑time project completion.
  • Help assemble custom cabinetry, store fixtures, millwork parts, and related components according to direction and approved methods.
  • Learn fabrication, assembly, material handling, preparation, and installation‑support methods from experienced craftspeople.
  • Use basic hand tools, measuring tools, and woodworking equipment safely under direction.
  • Read tape measures and follow verbal, written, and drawing‑based instructions.
  • Support sanding, cleaning, preparation, staging, packaging, and general production tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area and follow established shop guidelines.
  • Contribute to a team‑first production environment where quality and reliability matter.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Interest in woodworking, cabinetmaking, assembly, construction, or hands‑on manufacturing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Self‑motivation and willingness to learn valuable skills from experienced craftspeople.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and follow instructions carefully.
  • Basic ability to use hand tools; woodworking or construction experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work safely and help create a safe working environment for others.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance for a Monday‑Friday production schedule.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English in order to follow instructions and safety requirements.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and interest in growing within the skilled trades.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to stand for most of the day and regularly walk, bend, twist, reach, pull, and push with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work overtime when required to meet production needs.
WHAT WE OFFER

We offer 100% company‑paid full family health insurance, dental, vision, paid holidays, paid vacation/PTO, sick days, and 401(k) or pension.

This role is a pathway into skilled manufacturing for someone who wants to learn by doing, work alongside experienced craftspeople, and build a long‑term career in woodworking and custom interiors.
