Job Description – Sr. Field Quality Manager
The Sr. Field Quality Manager will lead the project quality team through the planning, execution, and close‑out phases of a project. Working closely with project and quality management, he/she will develop and implement project‑required activities, ensure that field quality teams execute the quality requirements of respective projects through monitoring and oversight, and assist the Director of Quality in maintaining the quality management system.
The role also includes input to best‑practice lessons learned, participation in required internal and external audits, and contribution to the vision and goals of the company mission and values.
- Duties
- Provide input from lessons learned and best practices for performing project‑related quality activities to aid in the annual maintenance of QISG’s Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001 and client specifications.
- Manage comprehensive contract and project documentation related to quality management activities, including reports, records, and audits.
- Verify that established quality requirements for design‑build and EPC projects and identify the standards, guidelines, and checklists appropriate for each project.
- Develop project audit plans, including schedule, documentation and resource requirements.
- Work closely with Quanta Operating Units and subcontractors’ QC personnel to ensure quality plan deliverables are met.
- Monitoring and Oversight
- Ensure all project quality management activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of quality performance metrics to senior management.
- Review and approve quality plans, procedures, and inspection reports.
- Perform or schedule systematic and independent examinations/audits of project or surveillance program activities.
- Assist in identifying and documenting issues that may cause deviations from plans and develop corrective action plans.
- Document Control:
Verify that project documents used at the jobsite are updated, maintained and stored according to project procedures. - Non‑Conformance Control:
Verify that non‑conformances are identified, documented, tracked and resolved.
- Team Interaction
- Report to project management on quality performance.
- Implement procedural improvements and best practices based on audit results and lessons learned.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing quality metrics, conducting root‑cause analyses and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Interact regularly with field Construction operations teams, corporate operations support, project controls teams and the client.
- Guidance and Leadership
- Act as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality.
- Provide leadership, support and guidance for quality management activities on design‑build / EPC projects.
- Lead and provide guidance to team members.
- Lead quality‑related discussions during project kick‑off meetings.
- Provide project team QMP training and awareness regarding planned activities.
- Perform any other duties assigned.
- Adhere to internal standards, policies and procedures.
- Required Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience or an associate’s degree with a minimum of 7 years’ experience, or a minimum of 12 years of experience in design quality management, surveillance monitoring, and corporate/operations/project/quality management.
