Job SummaryThe primary responsibility of this role is to build, maintain, and expand client relationships within an assigned territory, positioning Pioneer as the preferred curtain wall vendor. This individual will work closely with Sales, Estimating, and Executive teams to provide critical project information, support bid strategy, and as an established subject matter expert in the curtain wall industry will close deals for projects ranging from $5-50M.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Client Development & Relationship Management- Generate new leads: Identify target clients, build lists, and get Pioneer onto general contractors' prequalification lists.
- Manage key accounts: Serve as the main contact for owners, architects, and contractors to nurture ongoing relationships.
- Pitch and network: Conduct client presentations and attend industry events to market Pioneer and secure sales opportunities.
- Drive strategic growth: Partner with executive leadership to select target projects and secure Pioneer's market position.
- Track industry trends: Monitor economic shifts to align sales decisions with long-term company performance goals.
- Prequalify Pioneer: Position the company as a preferred manufacturer, fabricator, and installer with high-value clients.
- Present and close deals: Deliver clear proposals and technical solutions to clients, architects, and general contractors to win projects.
- Bridge sales and operations: Collaborate with estimators and project managers to clarify requirements and ensure accurate documentation.
- Drive team improvement: Participate in cross-functional internal meetings to share client feedback and streamline overall execution.
- Serve as a technical expert: Act as a trusted advisor on curtain wall systems, educating clients and internal teams on structural and compliance needs.
- Ensure fabrication feasibility: Verify that system designs are structurally sound, environmentally compliant, and practical to fabricate and install.
- Manage the pipeline: Proactively engage clients to identify and secure upcoming project opportunities.
- Support bid preparation: Assist in drafting comprehensive proposals, evaluating subcontractor pricing, and documenting meeting notes to prevent scope gaps.
- Drive growth goals: Establish and execute clear short- and long-term actions to expand operations.
- Solve problems independently: Adapt quickly to project challenges and client needs with minimal supervision.
- Manage risk proactively: Coordinate resources and plan ahead to mitigate project risks while maximizing opportunities.
- Stay ambitious yet realistic: Take initiative to improve processes while keeping business goals practical.
- Adapt as needed: Handle additional duties as assigned to support the team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction sales or a related role.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents, including plans, specifications, contracts, and budgets.
- Familiarity with basic engineering and architectural principles.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution abilities.
- Able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%; position is based in-office in Baltimore, MD when not traveling.
- This position may be performed remotely; however, candidates must reside within the Midwest or Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.
