Job Description- • Dispatch and coordinate drivers for daily pickup and delivery routes.
- • Monitor vehicle locations and route progress throughout the day utilizing our Samsara GPS Fleet Tracking platform.
- • Communicate with drivers regarding route changes, delays, and customer requirements.
- • Maintain accurate dispatch records and daily activity logs.
- • Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules and repairs.
- • Assist with driver scheduling and timekeeping.
- • Respond to customer inquiries regarding deliveries and service status.
- • Ensure compliance with company policies and transportation regulations.
- • Track and report key operational metrics and delivery performance.
- • Work closely with management to improve route efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- • Monday through Friday
- • Occasional after-hours phone support as needed
- • High school diploma or GED.
- • Minimum 2 years of cartage / truck transport dispatching experience.
- • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- • Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities.
- • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- • Ability to work independently and make quick decisions.
- • Experience with routing, GPS tracking, or transportation management systems.
- • Knowledge of the Baltimore-Washington-Northern Virginia corridor.
- • Prior experience working with delivery fleets.
- • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
