Keck Medicine of USC is hiring for the Staff RN
- Medical Surgical Telemetry (5 Tower) - Full Time 12 Hours Nights. This role is union, non-exempt.
- Accountable to the unit Manager and/or the Director of the department.
- Adherence to identified nursing standards of practice.
- Annually demonstrates competence in critical behaviors for assigned area.
- Promotes unity and teamwork among coworkers by maintaining a positive attitude and positive working relationships.
- IV competency in IV therapy.
- Demonstrates competency in medication administration and knowledge prior to administering medications.
- Responsible for the planning, directing, implementation, and evaluation of each patient; may delegate care to other licensed or unlicensed staff within licensure and competency limits. Direct care provided by LVN, CNA, nursing student, or logistics technician as appropriate.
- Participates in the organization-wide Performance Improvement Program through orientation, education, departmental and interdepartmental quality control, performance improvement, and quality planning activities.
- Demonstrates IRAISE values in professional and patient care interactions.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Manager / Director / Clinical Lead RN.
- Minimum (Required):
Associate degree in nursing - Preferred (Not Required):
Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Minimum (Required):
Possess Basic Computer Skills - Preferred (Not required): RN experience in the specific service or department; one-year acute care experience
- Minimum (Required):
Current RN licensure in the State of California - ACLS certification required when appropriate
- BLS certification required
The hourly rate range for this position is $49.86 - $76.69. When extending an offer of employment, USC Arcadia Hospital considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, laws and contractual stipulations, and market considerations.
Position SummaryA clinically competent, registered nurse who uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate safe, therapeutic care for acutely ill patients with medical/surgical diagnoses or maternal child health needs. Works as part of the interdisciplinary team to deliver nursing care for patients with complex, multisystem needs and contributes to unit and organizational goals.
