We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support long-term geotechnical and construction materials laboratory operations on a major on-site project.
Position SummaryThe Laboratory Technician supports geotechnical and construction materials testing by preparing samples, performing routine laboratory tests, maintaining equipment, and accurately documenting results in compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, FDOT, USACE, and project-specific requirements. Work is performed under the supervision of qualified laboratory personnel.
Schedule & LocationSchedule:
Six (6) 10-hour days per week
- Prepare, process, and test soil and aggregate samples, including moisture content, gradation, Atterberg limits, and Proctor testing
- Label, track, store, and manage samples to ensure proper identification and traceability
- Accurately record test results and maintain complete laboratory documentation and logs
- Clean, maintain, and verify calibration status of laboratory equipment
- Assist with laboratory setup, organization, and housekeeping
- Provide occasional support for field density testing as needed
- Follow all safety policies and procedures while maintaining a clean and orderly work environment
- Support senior laboratory staff with audits, inspections, and special testing assignments as directed
- High school diploma or GED required
- 0–2 years of laboratory, materials testing, or related experience preferred
- Ability to follow standardized procedures and document data accurately
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with laboratory work
- Dependable, punctual, and able to commit to a demanding long-term schedule
