Retail Assistant Store Manager

$18.00 to $21.00 per hour. Commission structure pays up to 8% on transactions, providing an average additional $1.00 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager with a minimum of six (6+) months of management/key experience. Assistant Store Managers oversee daily store operations, promote a positive and productive environment, and partner with the Store Manager to lead and develop staff, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations and satisfaction. The role analyzes store financial statements to ensure goals are met, commits to the company's asset protection program, promotes the business, and targets new customer acquisitions.

Employees work with a variety of merchandise including tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations).

This position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity and a bonus tied to store performance. Pay is based on location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers professionally and resolving issues promptly.
  • Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent through company‑prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers and merchandise, and ensuring all procedures are followed to protect assets.
  • Maintain asset protection through inventory control, safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
  • Administer store processes and procedures, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, store systems, and enterprise‑level reporting.
  • Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
  • Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes for value and integrity.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development.
  • Communicate clearly with employees about the store’s mission and profit objectives.
  • Stay updated on product knowledge.
  • Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated supervisory ability.
  • Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification.
  • May assist customers outside the building and retrieve products from exterior storage areas.
  • Minimum age 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
  • Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
