OverviewThis role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers who wish to fast‑track into a Store Management position. A minimum of one year retail management experience is required.

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six months of Store Management experience. The trainee will be accountable for the day‑to‑day operations of the store, partner with the Store Manager to lead and develop employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations and satisfaction. The role involves analyzing store financial statements, ensuring asset protection, promoting the business, targeting new customer acquisition, and supporting a wide variety of merchandise.
In addition to an hourly wage, Store Manager Trainees earn commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. Pay will be based on location, qualifications, and experience.
Responsibilities- Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers and addressing issues professionally.
- Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
- Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through company‑prescribed channels.
- Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers and merchandise, and ensuring all procedures are followed.
- Ensure asset protection through inventory control, safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
- Administer store processes, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, presentation, systems, and enterprise‑level reporting.
- Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through goal setting.
- Maintain operating standards that meet or exceed First Cash standards.
- Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure value and integrity of all loans issued.
- Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development.
- Communicate clearly with employees to ensure understanding of the store’s mission and profit objectives.
- Remain up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
- Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Minimum 1 year retail management experience.
- Willingness and ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and perform tasks for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling).
- Demonstrated supervisory ability.
- Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
- Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Will to work 45+ hours a week (hours not guaranteed).
- Computer literacy and proficiency with POS systems and common office machines.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and multi‑tasking abilities.
- Cash handling experience required.
- Independence and minimal supervision ability.
- Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.
- Minimum age 18 years; high school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
